I. How to Use Megadap M2RF Custom Tool
1. Download and extract the software
Go to https://www.megadap.net/ and download "Megadap M2RF custom tool.zip", then extract it on your computer.

2. Install the software
1) Windows: If the system shows a security prompt such as "cannot verify the publisher", click "Install" and wait until installation finishes.
2) macOS: During installation you may see a warning such as: "This App has not been notarized, and macOS cannot check whether it was modified or damaged after distribution." To install, follow these steps: Apple menu → "System Settings" → select "Privacy & Security" on the left (you may need to scroll down) → under "Security", click "Open Anyway" (or open the blocked app flow as prompted) → click "Open Anyway" if asked → enter your login password → click "OK".

3. Connect the adapter ring to the computer
Use the original USB cable to connect the M2RF adapter ring to your computer (Windows or macOS). After connection, a drive named "M2RF DFU" will appear on the computer.

4. Enter write mode
Open the "Megadap M2RF custom tool" application, then press the AF/MF button on the adapter ring once. The ring will enter data-write mode.

5. Configure lens profiles
1) The software can write four lens data sets: "A, B, C, and D".
2) For each set you can define four "aperture" values (recommended: follow the lens aperture ring and enter values in order from the widest aperture).
3) You can customize the "lens model" name, for example: "LEICA SUMMICRON-M 35mm F2 ASPH".
4) Choose a "default lens" (one of A/B/C/D) as the lens used at startup.

*Note: Each "lens" group has one aperture token: A (F2.2), B (F2.5), C (F2.8), and D (F3.2). The corresponding aperture value is the command used to switch lenses.

6. Save settings and exit
Click "Save Data" → click "Exit" → click "OK" to finish configuring the lens profiles.

II. How to Upgrade Megadap M2RF Firmware
1. Download firmware
From https://www.megadap.net/ download the firmware zip file. After extracting, you will get a firmware file with the .BIN extension
(for example: Megadap M2RF Ver1.0.5.BIN).

2. Connect the adapter ring to the computer
Connect the M2RF adapter ring to the computer with the original USB cable. The computer will then show a drive named "LM-RF DFU".

3. Copy the firmware file to the drive
Drag or copy the .BIN file into the "LM-RF DFU" drive. The system will complete firmware installation automatically within about 5 seconds.

4. Notes during upgrade
1) Windows: After installation completes, the drive will remount automatically, which indicates a successful upgrade. You may eject the drive manually.
2) macOS: Finder may show an error such as "The operation can't be completed...". You can ignore this message; the firmware has been written successfully. Eject the drive manually.
3) Verify the upgrade: check the current firmware version in the README file on the drive, or check the version in the camera menu under "Lens firmware".

III. Megadap M2RF Usage
1. Mounting the lens
Mount an M-mount lens (or a lens adapted to M-mount via a third-party adapter) onto the M2RF.
It is recommended to set the focus ring to infinity when in use.

2. Setting the camera aperture value
Use the aperture lever on the adapter ring and set the correct aperture value on the camera. Each lens group supports four aperture steps.
Note: The aperture on the lens must match the setting on the camera; otherwise autofocus speed and focus accuracy may be affected.

3. Switching lens data
Steps to enter "lens switching mode":
1) Press and hold the AF/MF button for three seconds to enter lens switching mode;
2) F2.2 = lens A, F2.5 = lens B, F2.8 = lens C, F3.2 = lens D;
3) On the camera, select the corresponding aperture value and release the shutter;
4) Restart the camera to complete the lens data switch.

4. Switching AF / MF mode
1) Single press AF/MF: switch between autofocus and manual focus.
2) After switching to MF, the adapter ring retracts to the infinity position.
3) In MF mode, press the AF/MF button twice in succession to fully extend the ring and enter closest-focus mode.
